Patient Participation Group

Would you like to join our Patient Participation Group?

Christchurch Hall Surgery is always keen to get feedback from everyone who uses our surgery, including carers, on how you see us and what you would like us to offer, if we are not providing it already.

A great deal comes from personal comments and responses to the surveys we carry out. We also like to keep you in the picture about developments at the surgery.

To help with this mutual communications process we have a panel of patients - a Patient Participation Group (PPG) - which meets Doctors and other practice staff several times a year and has the following aims:-

  • To be a critical friend to the practice
  • To commission, carry out or receive research into the views of those who use the practice. The research would also be to  hear views  and ideas on any new services that might be provided
  • It is designed to provide information from the patient perspective (including insights into perceptions of the quality of services) To commission or organise health promotion events designed to improve health literacy and encourage patients to take greater responsibility for their own and their family’s health
  • To ensure regular communication with our patient population

We want to recruit some more members to the PPG.  If you are a patient or carer of a patient and would like to help the practice communicate with its users and provide a channel for patients to give views to the practice - then joining could be for you.

No qualifications are required, just an interest in the practice and the PPG’s work, spare time for 3 or 4 short meetings a year and a willingness to think about the issues, propose any actions and help in carrying them out.

Please do consider joining by contacting Dawn William-Powell, Practice Manager, via Reception who can then arrange for you to have a chat with an existing member to find out more.
